Fitness Challenge 7 was the first ever "Extreme" challenge, with the goal of pinpointing the hardcore FC people that were interested in starting in the deep end, and quickly upgrading to keep it very challenging throughout. The 14 participants had great conviction, but the quick drop-out rate illustrated a great need to adjust to the daily routine -- by the end of 2006, there were only 4 of us left. Creedon and Koerts held on past the holiday season, but folded in January, leaving 2 Dutch nationals left to fight it out, Marianne de Haan and Fred Spanjaard. The two battled it out for a few months, but Spanjaard, a perrennial finalist and never a champion, dropped out on a sunny April day, incorrectly thinking that he had already done half of his exercises already that day, and realizing that in fact, the clock had struck 12, and he was out of the challenge. Congratulations Marianne! You are Extreme!
