Can anyone participate?:

Well, if you have been sent a link to this site, it probably means that you are someone who can be trusted. You may forward an invitation to any trustworthy person who would appreciate the motivation to do some exercise! However, we do reserve the right to limit participation. Please do not forward this site to large groups.

Do my free days carry over?

Nope. Use them or lose them.

Don't people just lie?

C'mon--would you really deceive your friends for a few lousy bucks?

How did you come up with this stupid idea?

Marlies Spanjaard was looking for a way to get motivated to do a bit of exercise on a daily basis and thought of the best incentive of all: her friends' money! The first edition of the challenge was won by Marlies's older sister, Ingrid, who won't hesititate to show you her "six pack" to prove it. The second fitness challenge ended in a tie between Kristen Donahue and Jennifer Flint, who realized that they were both stubborn enough to continue on forever. They retired on the same day and went out to dinner together to celebrate. See the links to the History section of the site on the Home page.

Does a day end when the clock strikes Midnight or when I go to bed?

The day ends at Midnight. If the clock strikes twelve and you haven't done your exercises, you better hope you haven't already used your day off for the week. If you have, you are toast! Exceptions will be made only when flying across more than five time zones.

Can I spread out my exercises over the day?

Yup. Only the totals count!

My push-ups look more like "the worm," than normal push-ups...Is that OK?

Lousy push-ups are painful to look at, but if you are trying hard and that's all you can do, worm-like push-ups will be accepted.

How long will the competition last?

The first four Fitness Challenges each lasted for about a year and even longer. The competitions tend to drop down to just a few long-term competitors, so we'll start another one when we have enough people for the next challenge.

Why would I sign up?

Very good question. Some do it for the discipline of a daily routine, some do it to get really fit, and others (maybe) do it for the money!
